Aza Lineage Delivers A Powerful Debut With Rebel Daawta

After years of anticipation, Jamaican singer and songwriter Aza Lineage has released her debut album, Rebel Daawta. Produced by the legendary King Jammy and released through VP Records, the 17-track project is rooted in classic sound system culture while offering a fresh perspective from one of reggae's most promising new voices.

More than just a debut, Rebel Daawta represents nearly a decade of growth. Aza has described the album as a "labour of love," with songs written, revisited, and refined over the course of ten years. The title reflects her personal philosophy of forging her own path and remaining true to herself, themes that carry throughout the record.

King Jammy's fingerprints are all over the production. Built on foundation riddims pulled from his legendary vault, the album blends timeless rub-a-dub and roots reggae with contemporary songwriting. The collaboration gives Aza the perfect backdrop for her conscious lyrics, strong vocal delivery, and unmistakable connection to authentic Jamaican sound system culture.

The album features appearances from reggae heavyweights Johnny Osbourne, Jesse Royal, Brandon Rootz, and veteran deejay Lone Ranger.
