Reggae on the River Returns to Northern California in August 2026
One of the world’s most respected reggae festivals is officially coming back.
Reggae on the River returns to County Line Ranch in Piercy, August 14–16, 2026, bringing three days of music, culture, and community back to the banks of the Eel River.
For more than four decades, Reggae on the River has been a cornerstone of West Coast reggae culture. What began in the 1980s as a community fundraiser for the Mateel Community Center has grown into one of the longest-running and most influential reggae festivals in the United States, while staying rooted in its original mission of unity, consciousness, and authentic Jamaican music.
Over the years, the Reggae on the River stage has hosted some of the most important artists in reggae history, including Steel Pulse, Burning Spear, Ziggy Marley, Buju Banton, Shaggy, and Luciano.
The 2026 festival continues that legacy with a lineup that blends internationally recognized reggae icons with exciting emerging voices. Across three days, audiences can expect a wide range of sounds, from roots reggae and dub to dancehall, world beat, and contemporary reggae.
Set beneath towering redwoods and alongside the river, Reggae on the River offers an experience that goes beyond the stage. The weekend includes multiple music stages, workshops centered on culture and wellness, artisan vendors, and a wide variety of food options. On-site camping and shared community spaces make it a place where people come not just to listen, but to connect.
