Blakkamoore - Change [Official Video]

Originally from Guyana, BLAKKAMOORE quickly moved to Brooklyn where he was living in the hip-hop culture from his young age. With these various origins came the wish to mix sounds and cultures

having now his own style between urban music and tropical reggae dancehall. He became a high value in the musical industry playing and working with artists like MAJOR LAZERDJ PREMIER or SNOOP DOGG for who he wrote many tracks on the SNOOP LION album: REINCARNATED nominated for the Grammy Awards in 2013.

On the new album UPWARD SPIRALBLAKKAMOORE demonstrates how reggae and hip-hop are linked by their stories, origins and influences. We can enjoy his oiled and charismatic voice on reggae music or urban sonorities. When tempo goes faster BLAKKAMOORE still feels comfortable and his flow keeps its fluidity. This new urban reggae album offers versatility and creativity from the talented BLAKKAMOORE who sings toasts and raps so easily.

His charism and experience make him a complete artist which brings back reggae music to the front of the international stage moving it away from the established clichés. This is the reason why SNOOP DOGG himself features on this new project on the “Get Down Tonight” track: the perfect example of a dancehall / hip-hop meeting. BIGA* RANX digital Dub scene icon joins BLAKKAMOORE on the excellent “Skyscrappers” for a high-level collaboration where both voices and flow give us the reply. Finally, on “Earth Cry” you’ll hear AKAE BEKA the deceased MIDNITE’s singer, this band which had big
success around the world with a mystical aura.

A qualitative cocktail served on rich and various productions reviving worldwide reggae scene and gathering more people around aesthetics which finally can be one.

Kumar - Remember Me

kumar kulture walk.jpg

The question was not IF, but WHEN Kumar would release his first solo album. After his departure from Raging Fyah in 2018 no one knew how long it would take before he would release a solo album. His last album was recorded and released in 2016 as a member of Raging Fyah and received a Grammy nomination in the Best Reggae Album category. Kumar’s long awaited first solo album entitled “Kulture Walk”  is now almost here. “Remember Me” the first single and video from the album is now out.

Kumar is a singer, songwriter and producer well known for his outstanding vocal ability. In his recordings he easily flows from deep roots reggae to a soulful pop sound that is exemplified in the upcoming album. His new music reinforces his diversity as an artiste seeking to learn and to capture all that he can within his art form. “Remember Me” is written by Kumar and produced by Jahvanie Weekday Morrison "Tru Ambassador " and Kumar. He has been promoting this song for a while, and received very positive feedback when he performed it recently in Jamaica at Reggae Month 2020 events.

Creating this song was a fulfilling experience. My very good friend and producer extraordinaire Jahvanie Weekday came up with the idea for the music and immediately the lyrics came to me. No one wants to feel left behind or feel like they give constantly but don’t receive anything back from others. This song means a lot to me and relates to many others ... I am just another voice encouraging them and us that life can be more beautiful and rewarding. Remember me, remember you, remember love.” Kumar Bent

The “Kulture Walk” album is scheduled for release on May 1st, 2020. There are 13 tracks on the album, with a variety of musical styles including features with M1 “Dead Prez “, and Agent Sasco. Co-Producers on the album include Robert Livingston, Clive Hunt and Walter Bonnet. Notis and Budwise productions also contributed to the album which was mixed by Gregory Morris. Executive Producers are Kulture Walk Music Group and Musicmovements, and it will be distributed by Baco Records. - words by Majesty Media

Chronixx presents Dela Move

chronixx dela move.jpg

Set in his native country of Jamaica, Chronixx returns to his youthful days for the “Dela Move” video directed by Nabil Elderkin. The Spanish Town representer surrounds himself with musicians placed in nature as they conjure up rhythms native of Africa’s musical inventions. A young Chronixx is then seen running through the neighborhood breathing fire, presumably to symbolize the fervor lyrics that fill the melody.

In tandem with the video’s debut, Chronixx also shared the arrival of his sophomore album Dela Splash. The project is slated for release later this year, arriving three years after his debut album, Chronology.

“Knowing that where I’m from is a place of creativity gave me confidence as a creator,” he said in a press release statement. For his upcoming effort, Chronixx dips into a sonic world that’s a departure from his previous outputs. Per Vanity Fair, the Reggae artist said Dela Splash launched from a “dark” point in time. “It’s so much darker than anything else I’ve ever done,” he noted.

Jah9 releases second album 'Note To Self'

Jah9 - Note To Self - Artwork.jpg

Reggae star Jah9 shares her 2nd studio album entitled 'Note to Self' and we LOVE it!

The Reggae songstress made sure that this project represents the best of her, and her wish for all fans to live life with elevated consciousness. This elevation is not just for the mind, but for the body as well, understanding that mind and body make up our existence.

You're familiar with "Heaven" which was the album's first release, followed by "Feel Good" and "Ma'at" but also included on the album is a great love song called "You and I" which features Pressure Busspipe and as well as the redeeming song "Ready to Play" featuring Tarrus Riley. This song is significant because it shares the story of how music saved two people.

Sonically, you'll appreciate how producers Jeremy Harding, Clive Hunt, Romario 'Runkus' Bennett, Iotosh Poyser, Romaine Arnett and Jah9 work together to give the world this excellent body of work. Your guaranteed to have a few favorites.

Deeply mystical, Jah9 has emerged from a chrysalis of poetry, dub and spirit to become a powerful femiNINE energy within a universal grassroots movement of consciousness. Inspired by the open spaces in the instrumental dub of 1970's Jamaican roots music, Jah9 sings with a voice that belies the dimensions of her physical body, from a soul much older than its current vessel; "reminiscent of that darkly operatic wailer for truth & justice, Nina Simone." Her philosophy-profoundly spiritual, and her style-Jazz on Dub.
